Big, spacious, historic , traditional house (formerly the Manager's residence at Camp Sandstone). It is on one level in upscale location, 200 yards from Big Green Lake. Lots of fresh air. Property comprises nearly 2 wooded acres with practically no neighbors. It has large rooms and good flow. It is very private and free of water hazards for children. it is however not suitable for infants and unsupervised young children. It has new very fast Wireless Internet throughout the property (see details). There is a study and a pleasant place to work with views, in the lobby. House is very well equipped, yet uncluttered with gourmet kitchen, 2 family rooms/lounges, one with electric piano, another with smart TV (streaming only, no regular tv) and DVD player, and a large patio with views over the woods. In this house you can live, cook and dine in style and comfort. We have a 22" outdoor charcoal kettle grill. This may be used at the guests own risk but bring your own supplies and utensils. There is also a fire pit with 2 vintage wooden airondack chairs (and others you can move from the patio to the side of the fire pit) and sometimes a supply of wood. There are 3.5 bathrooms. There is parking space for boat trailers. It is 2 mins drive by truck to a public boat launch location, Horner's Landing and 12 mins from Green Lake town. Sandstone Bluff is an area renowned for calm skiing water and good fishing on the drop-off. We are registered with and inspected annually by the Tri-County Environmental Health Consortium, Waushara County Health Department Cleaning practices:| We follow the industry standard framework (a-rb-b, if you get what we mean). These include: Space is ventilated when cleaning, use of Clorox/Lysol and other quality brand disinfectants, hands are washed before cleaning and when replacing supplies, dust is swept away before sanitizing, dishes and linens are washed on the highest settings, hard surfaces wiped down with soap and water, touch surfaces are sprayed/wiped with disinfectant, cloths are cleaned before use, once cleaned/sanitized rooms are closed. The house is not rented for very short or back to back stays (3 days minimum between rentals to allow ventilation and cleaning), and we have a no contact check-in procedure. The property is located in a small forest so please expect the leaves and dust that accumulate after our landscapers have been (every 2 weeks in the growing season.) Please note, there is only emergency access to the finished unfurnished basement which is not part of the VRBO agreement.

About the Green Lake Area Green Lake, also known as Big Green Lake by the locals, is the deepest natural inland lake in Wisconsin with a max depth of 236 feet. The lake is over 7,900 acres and has over 27 miles of shoreline with bays, coves, points and peninsulas to explore. During the summer, activities such as boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, swimming, sailing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and fishing are popular with our guests. Fish species include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Trout, Walleye and Catfish. The Green Lake Sailing School offers sailing lessons to all age groups during the summer, and there are frequent regattas for different boat classes. The water stays clean and clear year round unlike a lot of lakes in the region. There are several places to eat right on the lake- You can take your boat over to each of them or a short ride in the car and you're there. This property is located on the southwest corner of Green Lake referred to as "the terrace". This side of the lake is shallow and all pure sandy bottom. This property is perfect for 1 real large family or 3-4 smaller families to share. There are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is a large open concept kitchen and living room on the lower level that overlooks the beautiful lake. 1 bedroom is in the hallway off the kitchen but the other 4 are upstairs. The property sleeps 13 very comfortably in the 5 bedrooms and easily more using portable beds (not provided). The upper rec room area has a pool table, foosball table, dart board, large flat screen tv, private bathroom, couches and chairs, and is approximately 20x20. The property has a 150' pier that you can fish off of or tie off your boat. This is personally my all time favorite swimming lake because of how shallow it is and that its all sand. You can walk directly in off the boat house entrance to the water, or down the steps of the pier. This is a great place for kids to swim because of how shallow it is and how far out it goes before it gets very deep. Check out a Green Lake Map on google to see the depths of the lake. As you walk out from the shore towards deeper water, you have to get at least 50-100 yards before it goes below 5-6 ft deep. Green Lake is the deepest lake in the state which you wouldn't believe judging by how shallow it is on this end but it gets as deep as 262 ft and is great fishing including lake trout. The fishing theme is obvious by its large fish mirror residing over the 4-drawer, antique bureau. There are two front Bedrooms with views of magnificent Green Lake. The Queen bedroom is accented by a beautiful bear themed, black wrought iron headboard. Should you bring or rent a boat, we have a shore station (boat lift) to keep your boat (max. 4,000 lbs.) safely out of the water when not in use. The large, gently sloping front lawn is perfect for a variety of yard games...croquet and bean bags are our personal favorites. Built in the late 1800's, the house, named 'White Oaks,' was significantly damaged by a fire in 1995 and was rebuilt in 1998.
